I appreciate your comment.

When we transcend, whether it be our consciousness transcending our ego, or a molecule transcending a cell, it’s always “transcend AND include” that which we have transcended, never removed or cut off from, only having grown complexity and with more/larger perspective.

In our Essence our deepest desire is to feel Wholeness/Oneness or united with the creator. The paradox is that the more that we try to prove our specialness the more we experience separateness. This stops the flow of Life and causes pain (like a cancer cell). The more that we simply allow Life to be expressed through us via the gifts/natural strengths/core value that we are endowed with, the more special and connected we feel.

The first stage ego [Edging God Out] is rooted in fear, driven by the need to survive, experiences it's separateness and reacts to life with protecting and getting/proving behaviors. The second stage ego [Expressing God Outrageously] or you could say enlightened ego...our Christ conscious ego is grounded in LOVE, inspired by the desire for Wholeness/Oneness and partners with life through connecting and expressing behaviors. This paradoxically is accompanied with a humble knowing of our specialness AS a unique expression of the Divine and is experienced as what I refer to as the 5'P's of Radical Wholeness-PEACE, PASSION, PURPOSE, POWER & PRESENCE.

I would argue that none of us transcend our ego, nor should we. If it is enough to be a cell in God's body, then God would not have created so many gloriously complex individuals. God was already complete. It is the individual expression of love and the creative ways that we bring light into the world that has multiplied and expanded God, thereby making God more special. It was God's plan and design that individuality should exist or God would have been content to be alone. God expanded through our individuality.

To say you have transcended your ego's fear of being weak is in and of itself a declaration of being special. I am special in that I have transcended. If you have truly transcend your ego, would you have a need to declare this? I would submit that no one ever transcends the ego. The ego is key to our creative expression of Love and it allows us to have the opportunity for growth of the soul. If we never hurt, if we are never bruised by another's ego, we never grow.

It is in the pain of ego that we are forced to re-evaluate our way of being and our beliefs. It is the ego that needs to love and give love. Without the ego's desire to be special we are not compelled to be with our fellow souls in the body of God. We are not compelled to create and expand.

The challenge is to create the Aware ego of which you speak. This is the ego that is aligned with God and works in the light. It is the unaware ego that seeks to be special in inappropriate ways.

We all need to be special and to be special in the eyes and hearts of others. The larger the capacity for love in a soul, the more it needs to give and receive love, and as a result, feel special every time that connection is made. We are meant to feel special because this is why God created us. God wants us to feel special every time we connect to others with our divine gifts.

Interesting post, but I can't say I like the "you're a cell in God's body" statement.

In my world-world, we're each a partner with the God-being (whoever that is in our personal definition), bringing our uniqueness to accompany God's totality, but never in subservience or oblivion.

I would not like to think I'm a cell in God's big toe (or somewhere worse!), with God giving no more thought to me than I do a big toe cell in my own body. Perhaps that's ego or something, but surely God is bigger than that, and can accommodate me as a peer.

Of course, with that statement, I just qualified for this week's Stoning Party by the local fundamentalists. Better keep my real identify a secret!

I have other thoughts about why trying to be special is not a bad thing, nor having the ego that wants to be special something to be purged. But that's another argument.

Later...
